This course introduces students to the basic concepts and pharmacologic principles that apply to all drugs. Students will be presented with the drug classes that pertain to a specific body organ systems (nervous, musculoskeletal, etc.) or therapeutic indication (antihypertensive, anticoagulants, etc.). The discussion of each drug classification concentrates on the mechanisms of action, main therapeutic effects, clinical indication, adverse reactions, and drug interactions.
