  • What is the difference between a MicroDiploma and a Course?

MicroDiplomas are intended for students who want to upgrade their skills or get a comprehensive education in a new subject. They are comprised of 2-4 courses.

Courses focus on specific subjects, offering students the flexibility to gain targeted knowledge without committing to a full program. They are ideal for professionals seeking to enhance particular skills or for individuals interested in exploring a single area of study in depth.

  • How do MicroDiploma credits work?

Each Sundance College MicroDiploma has assigned credits. Each MicroDiploma you complete earns you credits that can be applied towards diplomas offered by the college. These credits accumulate as you progress, allowing you to advance your education and qualifications. For more information, please refer to the Con-Ed Policy document.

  • Is enrolling in a MicroDiploma that includes Course A, Course B, and Course C more cost-effective than taking each course individually?

Yes, enrolling in a MicroDiploma is usually more cost-effective because the combined cost of the courses is lower than enrolling in each course separately.

  • Can I transfer my Con-Ed Course credits to earn a MicroDiploma?

Yes, if you successfully complete the required courses for a specific MicroDiploma, you can use those credits to fully satisfy the MicroDiploma requirements. For example, if you complete AADF (4 Credits), AATT (2 Credits), and AHRP (3 Credits), you will be awarded the Addictions Fundamentals MicroDiploma (HAD1020) at no additional cost. For more information, please refer to the Con-Ed Policy document.

  • What happens if I don’t complete all the required courses for a MicroDiploma?

You will receive Certificates of Achievement for each course you successfully complete, but you will not earn the MicroDiploma unless you complete all required courses.

  • Can I transfer Con-Ed credits to satisfy Diploma requirements?

Yes, Con-Ed course and MicroDiploma credits can be applied toward diploma requirements, but only up to a maximum of 25% of the total Diploma credits. For example, if you complete AADF (4 Credits), AATT (2 Credits), and AHRP (3 Credits), you can apply 6 of those credits toward an Addictions and Community Health Professional Diploma, which requires 44 credits in total. In addition, you must meet the Admissions Entrance Requirements of the relevant program. For more information, please refer to the Con-Ed Policy document.

  • When will I get access to the course materials after enrolling in a Con-Ed MicroDiploma?

You will receive instructions to access your course materials within 1 business day on weekdays. For purchases made on Fridays or weekends, please allow up to 3 business days.

  • How long will I have access to my MicroDiploma course books after activation?

You will have access to a course book for 3 months after you activate the book code.

  • What is the estimated completion time of a MicroDiploma?

The estimated completion time for a MicroDiploma is 3 months.

  • Can I get a refund if I change my mind after purchasing a Con-Ed MicroDiploma?

Yes, if you request a refund within 72 hours of your purchase, you will receive a 100% refund of your tuition, lab fees, and book fees for any inactivated books.

  • Will I get a refund for books that have already been activated?

No, fees for any books that have already been activated will not be refunded, regardless of whether the student actually commenced coursework or not.
