Description

This MicroDiploma teaches the fundamentals of payroll, including its legislation, deduction calculations, and the policies and procedures for effective business decision-making. Students gain managerial accounting skills, which include analyzing and describing a business’s financial and operational performance.

  • Payroll I

    An introduction to the principles and practices of payroll management within the Canadian context, covering topics such as the payroll system, labour standards, and calculation of gross earnings. Learn about pensionable, insurable, and taxable earnings, non-statutory withholdings, and the calculation of net pay. Understand employer responsibilities for payroll taxes and premiums to manage payroll accurately and compliantly.

  • Payroll II

    Gain deeper expertise in payroll management with topics including advanced payroll accounting, payroll information systems, and remittance procedures. Explore the financial aspects of employment termination, including final pay calculations and severance, and master the year-end payroll procedures, ensuring accurate preparation and submission of annual payroll reports. By the end of this course, you will be well-equipped to manage payroll operations efficiently and in compliance with relevant regulations. 

  • Managerial Accounting

    Managerial accounting, also known as cost accounting, involves identifying, measuring, analyzing, interpreting, and communicating information to managers regarding the financial and operational performance of a business. Learn budgeting, profit/loss analysis, production, and inventory costing to aid in the decision-making processes within businesses.

    To enroll in a microdiploma, visit the page for the specific microdiploma and click the “Enroll Now” button. You will be directed to the payment page. 

    Review your enrollment summary, enter your email address and payment details, and click submit. 

    Once your payment is confirmed, you will receive a confirmation email along with the credentials to access the online platform at mysundancecollege.ca

  • What will I receive once I successfully complete a MicroDiploma?

    Upon successful completion of each MicroDiploma, you will receive a MicroDiploma and a Certificate of Achievement for each course within the MicroDiploma.

  • What happens if I don’t complete all the required courses for a MicroDiploma?

    You will receive Certificates of Achievement for each course you successfully complete, but you will not earn the MicroDiploma unless you complete all required courses.

  • What is the difference between Microdiplomas and Courses?

    Microdiplomas are intended for students who want to upgrade their skills or get a comprehensive education in a new subject. They are comprised of 2-4 courses. 

    Courses focus on specific subjects, offering students the flexibility to gain targeted knowledge without committing to a full program. They are ideal for professionals seeking to enhance particular skills or for individuals interested in exploring a single area of study in depth.
